Mental Health
Telecare consultations can provide evaluation for depression, anxiety, and related mental health concerns when appropriate for virtual care.
Mental Health Evaluation
Mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety can affect daily life and well-being. Telecare evaluation may help assess symptoms, review treatment options, and determine appropriate next steps when virtual consultation is clinically suitable.
When Telecare May Be Appropriate
Telecare may be suitable for mental health evaluation when symptoms are manageable, there are no immediate safety concerns, and an in-person examination is not required. Our providers assess each situation to determine if virtual consultation is appropriate.
What a Consultation Typically Includes
Discussion of Symptoms
Review of mental health symptoms and concerns
Medical History Review
Assessment of medical and mental health history
Symptom Assessment
Evaluation of symptom severity and impact on daily life
Treatment Discussion
Discussion of treatment options when clinically appropriate
Follow-Up Recommendations
Recommendations for follow-up care or in-person evaluation if needed
Limitations
Telecare may not be appropriate for severe mental health symptoms, crisis situations, or when immediate intervention is needed. Some cases may require in-person evaluation, specialized testing, or emergency care.
Your provider will assess whether telecare is appropriate for your specific situation and may recommend in-person care or emergency services when necessary.
Safety Note
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, thoughts of self-harm, or severe symptoms, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 immediately. Telecare is not a substitute for emergency mental health care.
