Telecare Consultation

Pain

Telecare consultations can provide evaluation for acute or chronic pain conditions when appropriate for virtual care.

Understanding Pain

Pain is a complex experience that may be acute or chronic, localized or widespread. It can result from injury, inflammation, nerve involvement, or underlying medical conditions. Understanding the nature and pattern of pain helps determine appropriate care.

When Telecare May Be Appropriate

Telecare may be appropriate for certain pain concerns when symptoms are stable, non-emergent, and do not require physical examination or imaging. Providers evaluate each case to determine whether virtual care is suitable.

  • Mild to moderate pain
  • Non-injury-related pain
  • Ongoing pain management discussions
  • Medication review or adjustment
